Kylemore
Abbey
Kylemore Abbey is located in the heart of the Connemara Mountains,
on the shore of Lough Pollacappul. It is regarded as one of Irelands
most romantic buildings as it was built by Mitchel Henry for his
dear wife in 1866 after spending their honeymoon in Renvyle, so
charmed were they by it's beauty. Today it is home
to the Benedictine nuns and one can visit the abbeys Gothic church,
exhibition rooms, lake and woodland walks, craft shops, restaurant

Tully
Cross
There are two villages on the Renvyle peninsula. Tully (1km) and
the picturesque village of Tully Cross (2km). The local village,
Tully has two pubs, restaurant, two shops, post office, supermarket,
medical clinic and traditional music and dance theatre (Teach Ceoil).
The local doctor also lives in Tully. Tully Cross has two pubs,
a small hotel, and a church.
Connemara
Sea Life Centre
Sea side centre and scenic and wildlife coastal cruises. Sea angling
trips on board the "Queen of Connemara". Excellent fresh
seafood restaurant. Highly recommended.
Killary

Connemara
National Park
Connemara National Park covers 2000 hectares of scenic mountains,
expanses of bogs, heaths, grassland and woodlands. In the parks
heritage visitors centre there 3D exhibitions, audio visual shows,

Pony Trekking is available in the local village 1km from the house.
Golf
On the Renvyle Peninsula there is a nine hole golf course, and also
an 18 hole golf course in Ballyconnelly 30 minutes from the house,
which offers club hire, snacks and a pro shop.

Adventure Company
The Killary Adventure Centre offers rock climbing, artery, gorge
walking, kayaking, wind surfing, orienteering, hill walking, mountain
hiking, survival experience, hobie catamaran, sailing, speed boating,
clay pigeon shooting, knee boarding and wake boarding - 12 km from
house.

Hill
Walking
Connemara offers the best landscape in Ireland for hill-walking.
Its hills, mountains, shoreline and quiet roads offer a variety
of challenges, from the moderate Tully Mountain (Renvyle) to the
challenging Mealrea Horse Shoe. The scenery is unrivalled anywhere.
